Staring out the window in hushed silences

I looked at nothing. And everything.

A sudden breeze of fresh air set my wandering gaze up on her,

There she should tall with her head held high.

Most of her companions had fallen victim to bizarre human elements called houses,

But some remain and amidst them remain she,

With a petite brown body and a head full of beautiful lush greens.

Occasionally she swayed in the winds,

Lighting joy around her.

She was mother to small birds who sort warmth in her breasts.

I could tell she loved unconditionally.

In this concrete world she was my cure.

But how long o' how long,

Will she be there in her glory.

How long will it be before she is taken down,

Before she is stripped of her glory,

And me like the birds of our peace.
